Hello, I am Giulia
I am a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Florence, Italy.
Several years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Italy wasn't in the plans for the long haul. Like many expat relocations, it began as a job opportunity and quickly grew into something much bigger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and heightened expectations. Everyday tasks felt tougher than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built SolquarQuilRenLin
Most information online was either corporate-level relocation advice or shallow tourism material. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in Italy.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Hands-on insights from life in Italy
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever real changes occur
This site ISN'T:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Italy goes on, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll continue recording what we find.
If you have questions about family life in Florence or anywhere in Italy, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Giulia
